This Drone™ is a speculative technology produced in partial fulfillment of a Master’s Thesis in Emergent Digital Practices at the University of Denver. This Drone™️ is a satirical survey of women in the outdoors and how society views them.
I created several marketing assets for this speculative technology. This is an image of the informational buyer’s guide.
Along with the pamphlet, I created a game in Scratch outlining one of the ways This Drone™️ could protect a female outdoors enthusiast. The game can be accessed through this link. I created all of the imagery in illustrator for this portion of the project.
Below are the individual .pngs I created utilizing a pixelated format. Each cell was filled in with colors selected from a photograph I used as a reference. The background was quite time intensive. :)
Along with the game and pamphlet, I created a website. At this website, I outlined each varying form of This Drone™️, adopting a similar aesthetic to the Mavic website. I also utilized animated .gifs to scroll through the various color-ways and functionality of each drone. Please visit the website for a better look at what it contains.
Finally, I created an Instagram account for This Drone™️. Here, I utilized many of the images I manipulated for the pamphlet, and added some that I gathered from hikes and bike rides I took around the Denver area to create more content. There are videos that demo some of the features of This Drone™, though in a classically silly manner.
